During the war the Royal Army Veterinary Corps was responsible for the care and welfare of the many thousands of horses and mules used by the army, often in front line locations, pulling guns or service wagons. Many of these animals were killed and wounded. Alexander Anderson was killed on 20th April, 1915 while serving with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps in Belgium, but as yet there is no further information concerning his death. |
